About this sauna

Bosca Beatha sits in the Glenmalure valley, a small healthy oasis among the Wicklow mountains. The wood-fired sauna is heated by a stove and the lights run on solar, and the river below provides a genuinely freezing plunge in January. Shirley makes it, and visitors talk about the calm as much as the heat.

This is a wonderful sauna. I visited on the 3rd of January when it was icy cold. Dipping into the freezing river after the sauna was a terrific feeling. This has to be one of the nicest sauna's around. I understand that it will be staying out instead of moving around now. Hopefully I'll get the chance to go back soon.

One of the most amazing places!! You should all visit. The experience and the calmness you'll get is something out of this world. And Shirley is a fantastic human being. Make it a pin on your maps!!!

Loved it, a little bit of a healthy oasis in the valley. A birthday treat. We will be back.
