Saunas in Kilkenny
Kilkenny is a medieval city in a farming county, with the Nore running through the middle and the Barrow marking the eastern edge at Graiguenamanagh. Saunas in Kilkenny pair their heat with those rivers. They include saunas close to the city, at Freshford to the north, at Kells by the old priory, and on the Barrow at Tinnahinch, where the river forms the border with Carlow.
Wood-fired stoves feature, cold plunges and changing areas are the norm, and accessible access is listed too. Kilkenny city makes a natural base: a sauna in the morning, the castle and the Marble City's lanes in the afternoon, the Nore at dusk. Kilkenny Grand Sauna and Hideaway Sauna are the nearest to the city; Freshwell Sauna at Freshford, Vivo Saunas at Kells and The Hot Box Sauna at Tinnahinch make up the rest. The county sits between Tipperary, Laois, Carlow, Wexford and Waterford, so a longer trip can take in the Copper Coast or the Blackstairs without going far.
